Sarah Palin has been a top target of the Democrats since she ran as Senator John McCain’s vice presidential candidate. It seems Mayor Mark Begich was less than honest with the Anchorage Assembly when recommending approval of union contracts, “forgetting” that he had been advised they could not afford the deals as they stood. Could the fact that he was running for U.S. Senate and needed the votes explain his lapse of memory?

The Department of Justice team in the Ted Stevens prosecution has given justice a black eye. We hope Attorney General Eric Holder and Judge Emmet Sullivan have taken the first steps to keep our courts from regularly becoming a political tool during election campaigns.
